Written by John Stewart

Going Home (Homeward Looking Bird) is on The Secret Tapes '86, Homecoming Records cassette, 1986, re-released together with Secret Tapes II (Homecoming cassette, 1987) as a double cd by Neon Dreams, 2002.

Good song.  Sounds like that´s Chris Mostert on sax.  There is an early version of this song on The Piano Album, called New Orleans (Riding Home).

(G) Sailing his (D)shadow,

(C) DC (D)highway, coming on,

(Em) Everybody (D)watches 'till he's (C)gone. (D)

(Em) There's a cold sky (D)breaking where he's (C)been, (D)

(Em) Flying (D)westward with the (C)wind. (D)

(G) It kind of makes me (D)wonder

(C) When these empty eyes will (D)find you,

(Em) Maybe some to(D)morrow, my old (C)friend, (D)

(Em) Maybe some to(D)morrow, my old (C)friend. (D)

(Em) Wish I had a (D)poet's open (C)soul, (D)

(Em) Soon we will (D)all be going (C)home, (D)

(Em) Soon we will (D)all be going (C)home, (D)
